Total silence could be a blown fuse, a failed ignition switch, or a security system issue. If the engine cranks strongly but never catches, the problem might be fuel or spark, not the battery. Inspect the battery terminals for corrosion; white or blue crust can block current. Clean with a dedicated brush or a baking soda and water solution, then dry thoroughly.
